100 kW hydrogen fuel cell – digital twin in operation – using green hydrogen and waste plastic hydrogen
The Tokyo Tech InfoSyEnergy Research and Education Consortium, the Tokyo Tech Academy of Energy and Informatics (Head of Consortium and Academy Director Manabu Ihara, Prof.), and several companies such as Toshiba Corporation and Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions Corporation are jointly developing a platform “100 kW hydrogen fuel cell – digital twin” for optimizing the design and control of a 100 kw hydrogen fuel cell that seeks to balance carbon neutrality and economic advantage by mixing renewable energy hydrogen/waste plastic hydrogen. They installed the platform in the Tokyo Tech Environmental Energy Innovation (EEI) Building and started operation of the platform.

The InfoSyEnergy (ISE) Workshop for Education and Research Collaboration is being held to provide collaboration opportiunities between the students of Tokyo Tech Academy of Energy and Informatics and ISE Consortium members including TokyoTech professors, companies, public institutions, local government, and universities, through students” research presentations and discussions. In the 3rd Workshop, before the students sessions, a keynote lecture by Professor Ahmed Ghoniem at MIT and short presentations by ISE member companies are scheduled. Professor A. Ghoniem, an ISE member, will introduce his state-of-the-art results in his research fields. In the ISE member company presentations, each company will show the Academy students their business approach for realization of zero-carbon society from the view point of “Energy x Informatics”. In the Students sessions, they will give brief short presentations on their own research themes which will be introductions of full presentations and discussions in the for coming 2nd ISE International Forum (Energy-Informatics International Forum) held in December 2022.
