Registration is now open! TokyoTech InfoSyEnergy Research and Education Consortium: 6th Research Workshop (July 25, 2022)

MI (Materials Informatics) is attracting ones’ attention in the world as an emerging discovery and developing method in materials science using informatics and machine learning. This workshop will focus on MI, and up and coming researchers give lectures on fundamental and general knowledge, successful applications, examples of data storage and utilization methods that are important for MI, and applications to all solid state battery related materials. Panel discussion will clarify development issues for “Energy Materials Informatics” such as selection of MI methods and data acquisition methods unique to energy related materials. In addition, the activities of the Tokyo Tech Academy for Convergence of Materials and Informatics (TAC MI) and Tokyo Tech Green Transformation Initiative (GXI) will be introdu6thced.

June 4:  Head Ihara to explain the importance of data science toward carbon neutrality in an easy-to-understand manner in BS-TBS program

Manabu Ihara, Head of the Consortium, will appear in the program “Akumade Kodomo no Mesen” (Thoroughly from children’s point of view) at 15:54 on June 4 (Sat.) on BS-TBS.  He explains various efforts to realize carbon neutrality in an easy-to-understand manner to a kid reporter.

June 1: Manabu Ihara, head of Consortium will talk for residents of Oota Ward.

A series of 3 lectures will be held under the theme of “Toward a Sustainable Energy Society: New Technologies for Decarbonization and Energy Today” at Ota Kumin Daigaku (University for residents in Ota Ward) , which is jointly organized by Ota Ward and Tokyo Institute of Technology. Manabu Ihara, the head of the Consortium will talk on “Next Generation Solar Cells, Fuel Cells, and Smart Energy Systems” as the first lecture of the series on June 1.

Ken Okazaki, Special Advisor and Manabu Ihara, Head spoke at 5th Super Smart Society Promotion Forum

Ken Okazaki, Special Advisor to the Consortium and Manabu Ihara, Head of the Consortium gave lectures at 5th Super Smart Society Promotion Forum hosted by the Super Smart Society Promotion Consortium on March 10, 2022.

Special Advisor, Ken Okazaki gave the keynote speech titled “Significant role of hydrogen toward carbon neutrality and contribution to super smart society”.

Head, Manabu Ihara made the speech titled “Development of grid-cooperated/distributed energy system Ene-Swallow toward carbon neutrality“

Followed by lectures, they both participated in the panel discussion.

6th InfoSyEnergy Corporate Advisory Board meeting and 5th InfoSyEnergy Members-only workshop for Energy Research will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.

6th InfoSyEnergy Corporate Advisory Board meeting and 5th InfoSyEnergy Members-only Workshop for Energy Research will be held in hybrid format from 09:30 and 13:30 respectively. The Consortium members are invited to attend in person (Tokyo Tech, Ookayama North Bldg. 3) or via Zoom.   Detail will be announced later, so please plan accordingly.

InfoSyEnergy Research and Education Consortium hosts 3rd InfoSyEnergy Open Symposium on March 22.

  The consortium holds public symposiums for not only its members but also for the general public, in which prominent experts from outside the
university are invited to speak on themes that may provide hints for solutions to social issues related to energy in general.
  The main topic of the third symposium is “Urban Carbon-Free Energy Society”. We will consider both energy and information aspects. Mr.Hiroaki Kitano, director of Sony Computer science laboratories, Inc., and also a specialist of AI, will give lecture as the main guest. We’ll have panel discussion with him. In addition, Professors from Tokyo Tech in the fields of energy and information engineering will also give lectures.
