■ Consortium corporate members received the following information at the symposium:
・Recent Australian federal government and NSW state government policies boosting investment in clean hydrogen
・Hydrogen research at Tokyo Tech, UNSW and other Australian universities, and the latest trends in research into industrial applications of hydrogen
・Opportunities for strategic industry-academia partnerships available to Japanese companies
・R&D subsidies, tax incentives and other incentives available to the partners of Australian universities

■ Core researchers at Tokyo Tech, UNSW, the University of Technology, Sydney and the University of Newcastle as well as industry speakers introduced practical solutions, including the following:
・Safe and scalable low-pressure hydrogen storage
・New materials for increasing the efficiency of fuel cells and electrolytic cells and reducing associated costs
・Lightweight composite hydrogen storage pressure vessels
・Manufacturing hydrogen from biomass/biodegradable waste to achieve a circular economy, resource recycling, and sustainability
