One of the most urgent challenges facing the world today is building a sustainable energy society that balances economic growth with climate change mitigation. The rapid advancement of renewable energy technologies and the growing importance of ESG investment are accelerating the transformation of energy systems worldwide. Hydrogen is also emerging as a key energy carrier that supports both global energy supply chains and local low-carbon energy systems.​

Since its establishment in 2019, the InfoSyEnergy Research and Education Consortium at the Institute of Science Tokyo has promoted the integration of energy science and Big Data Science by combining data science and AI-based analytics. We aim to contribute to the realization of a sustainable and carbon-neutral society through the application of these technologies to energy devices, systems, and infrastructure.​

The consortium shares a vision of an “Ambient Energy Society”—a future society in which advanced digital technologies create new value and services that enable environmental sustainability and economic prosperity to coexist seamlessly. Through close collaboration among academia, industry, and public organizations, we pursue research, education, and innovation that support this vision.​

​More than 70 faculty members from diverse disciplines participate in the consortium. Our activities span a wide range of fields, including renewable energy, distributed energy systems, hydrogen and fuel cells, energy storage, energy markets, carbon-neutral technologies, and data-driven analysis of future energy systems.​

Together with industry, government, and international academic partners, we are committed to creating innovative solutions to the energy challenges of the future. We welcome new partners who share our vision and look forward to working together toward a sustainable energy society.​
