The WISE Program (Doctoral Program for World-leading Innovative & Smart Education) is an educational program launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) in FY2018. The program is designed to foster five-year integrated doctoral degree programs that concentrate world-leading educational and research capabilities through systematic collaboration between domestic universities and external institutions such as top foreign universities and private companies. This fiscal year, Tokyo Tech’s program was one of just four proposals from four universities selected for adoption out of the 42 submitted by 27 universities.
