ISE Student Introductions and Interviews 

*March 2025 Graduates       

Expanding on the Academy of Energy and Informatics program, the Graduate Major in Energy Science and Informatics launched in April 2024. Accordingly, student , excluding associate-member students (adult students), selection ended for the ISE program as of AY 2025.​
Starting April 2026, the Graduate Major in Energy Science and Informatics will conduct the student selection for financial support. ​
Details will be updated as needed. Please check back regularly for the latest information.

FY2027

Selection for Financial Support for Academic Year 2027

Fall semester, AY2026
■ Eligible Students
Doctoral students who are enrolled in the graduate school at the time of selection and who will belong to the Energy Science and Informatics Course as of April 2027

Document screening and Online research presentation
■ Document Screening Criteria
Document screening will be conducted based on the status of credits earned for 【the credits indicated under Requirements 1–3 on page 7 of the Study Guide for Academy of Energy and Informatics.】
Please note that the restricted electives in the “InfoSyEnergy Social Design courses” listed under “Completion Requirements 3” are scheduled to be discontinued this academic year.
Therefore, students are strongly encouraged to complete these credits within the current academic year.

Applying to ISE

Academy of Energy and Informatics (ISE) recruits ISE Candidate Students (ISE-C students) twice a year. After being approved as an ISE-C student, the students will be selected through a screening of documents and the research presentation in the “Energy Innovation Co-Creation Project” course in the 3rd and 4th quarter (or equivalent research presentation) for the main screening, and an interview if necessary. Students who pass these screening will be officially registered as ISE students. 

ISE Candidate Students (ISE-C students) Fall applications

At Academy of Energy and Informatics, selection process to become ISE registered students is by 2 stage selection as written below.

  1. Selection of ISE Candidate students
  2. Selection from ISE-C students to a regular ISE student (Main examination)
    ※Selection to become official registered student is only from ISE candidate students
    (Please refer annual schedule of selection)

    1. Application deadline

    October 9 (Thu) – October 31 (Fri), 2025, by 5:00 p.m. (strict deadline)

      2. Eligible Students

      ・Master’s degree program students and Professional Master’s degree program students
      ・Doctoral degree program students                      

      3. How to apply

      Please fill out the required information on Form A and Form B, and then create a single PDF file combining both forms. Please upload the three documents listed in the table below to the submission box specified in the guidelines.

      [Note] Applications without your supervisor’s signature cannot be accepted. Please be sure to consult with your supervisor before submitting your application.

      As a regular student, you are eligible to take courses offered by ISE and receive financial support. For more information, please click here.

      Recruitment for ISE Associate-member Students (Adult students)

      For working and work-experienced students, we established the Associate-member students system in 2022.
      Starting in October 2026, we will conduct an additional round of recruitment and selection for students to be registered as “Associate Member Students.”
      If you wish to apply, please submit your application by the deadline.

      Eligibility

      Adult students enrolled in any graduate programs at Science Tokyo.
      (Master’s degree program, Professional master’s degree program and Doctoral degree program)

      (receiving salary, wages, remuneration or other ordinary income)
      ②Retired from a job that earns salary, wages, remuneration, or other ordinary income
      ③Housewives or Househusbands

      Students will be registered starting from October 2026.

        Select and participate in events and activities of your choice to enhance skills.
        ※Please note that no certificate will be issued.
