December 13 Technical Tour [ Yonekurayama Next-Generation Energy System R&D Village, Yamanashi ]
“International Forum on Energy & Informatics ” is a part of the curriculum of Academy of Energy and Informatics, in which students develop their design thinking ability by synthesizing the scholarly knowledge, exploring (interdisciplinary), crossing (transdisciplinary), and adding to (multi-disciplinary) the border between energy and information. Academy of Energy and Informatics students, program members (faculty, companies, overseas partner institutions) are going together at the forum. We also invite notable researchers from overseas partner institutions (primarily the world’s top 15 universities that are consortium members) to discuss on research outcomes, debates, and more. Students will stay for about a week at a world-class partner university in the fields of energy and informatics, present their own research, and discuss their field of expertise. In addition, students propose the fusional research themes, related to the research fields both of students and of the partner university’s laboratory they will be sent, which may be created in the future. Through these research exchanges, such as discussions with overseas faculties and students, they will develop an international perspective and acquire international collaboration skills. Based on the above activities, they will report and discuss them at an international conference, which will be invited member institutions of the InfoSyEnergy Research and Education Consortium, including faculty members from world-class universities and researchers and experts from member companies.
This forum focuses on the following topics:
1. Materials and Devices for energy
(Ex. Fuel cell, solar cell, secondary battery, capacitor, electrolysis, energy materials (ion conductor, electrode) etc.)
2. Reactions for energy
(Ex. Combustion, catalysis, energy carriers, fluid dynamics etc.)
3. Systems and Data Science for energy
(Ex. System optimization, big data science, AI etc.)
